How To Get Shiny and Smooth Hair! ♕

I have many different ways to ensure that my hair is shiny and smooth, of course I have days where it is definitely not looking very nice, but so does everyone! Here are a few things that I do.

I am always talking about the wonders of coconut oil.
It is the only oil I use on my hair that I find really helps.

I occasionally use olive oil and castor oil too. (But coconut is the best!)

Coconut oil can be used for many different things,
- Food
- Cooking
- Skin
- Nails
- Hair

I find that it helps my nails, when I am massaging the oil into my scalp it is also going onto my nails.. obviously, which helps them to grow and become stronger.
I will use coconut oil on my skin if I think it is getting too dry or cracked, it is such a good moisturizer and helps immediately.

When using the oil on my hair, I usually gradually add more and more over a few days and keep it in my hair, I will then wear my hair in dutch plaits all over my head (it looks less greasy this way).
I then wash my hair with the mane and tail shampoo and conditioners, the ones that are meant for horses... I have read a lot of reviews on this and I have decided to try it, so i will give you an update at some point!

I really think that this shampoo and conditioner works, it makes your hair so squeaky clean, and I mean squeaky, you can actually hear your hair squeak when you are washing it.
Click here to see where I bought it from -  Mane n Tail

So here is an image of me, which my hair covered in coconut oil, I either wear it in my hair for a day, or I put it in a few hours before I wash it.
I also make sure that i massage my head when I do this.

You simply have to rub a tiny bit into your fingers, as it is solid, but it melts with the slightest bit of heat, then massage it into your scalp, and slowly make your way towards the ends of your hair.

This is the coconut oil i use, i would always recommend going with original/ organic and virgin coconut oil as no chemicals have been put into it.

There you have it, I hope this helps you in any kind of way. It has really helped my hair look healthy again after using heat for such a long time.

The Benefits of Peppermint Tea

I absolutely LOVE tea. I will try every kind of tea possible. But I have a few favorites, this post is all about peppermint tea, and its benefits, and what its really like to drink.

So in this picture you see above, I have my peppermint tea in this super cute clear glass mug, I have no idea where they are from but I am sure you can order them online from pretty much anywhere.

I first started to drink peppermint tea as I heard it can really calm down your stomach especially if you are bloated or have IBS (probably because it helps you go to the toilet..)
So it kind of tasted a little bit like minty dirt, I know i'm not selling it that much BUT it gets better, its a taste that you can learn to like, which I now have!

The best way to brew a cup of peppermint tea would be to keep the tea bag in for at least three mins, you can also add honey to your tea if you would like it sweeter, and also honey has it benefits too! Honey can help soothe your throat, and generally help with how you are feeling especially if you have a cold. (Lemon and honey tea is good for colds too)

Here are the benefits!

1) Can help you go to the toilet if you need to, this might not work for everyone, but it does for some, this is due to the peppermint moving the gas which may be stuck causing bloating or irritable bowels.

2) It is very refreshing! The minty taste can help to wake you up, it sort of makes your insides feel fresh too!

3) If you are feeling sick, drink some peppermint tea! I always used to chew chewing gum when i felt sick, until i learnt that it eats away at your insides (apparently). Peppermint tea is an antispasmodic, it helps to reduce belly aches and soothe motion sickness due to its anti inflammatory properties.

4) If you are looking to lose weight, then this is the tea for you, it basically works so that you dont feel hungry, and wont need to snack.

5) It helps to reduce stress, as peppermint oil is a popular oil to burn or to use in aromatherapy, by drinking this tea it reduces your blood pressure and regulates your temperature. This means you can relax and unwind.

Here is an image below if you would rather read this than all those words!

Hope you have enjoyed, and I hope this has helped you in anyway!

☼ How to have a good day ☼

This post is all about my own tips and advice on how to stay calm and enjoy your day, even if it is Monday...

Start to love Mondays! Mondays aren't all that bad, its the start of a new week, you can begin fresh, write down all of the ideas you have for the week, and get started. I think its best to pretend you like Mondays for a while, and eventually you will!

Go to bed early. I don't mean go to bed at 7'o clock, but there's no need to stay up until midnight! Having a good nights sleep does wonders for your body and your brain, you will be ready to take on the next day without feeling gloomy at midday.

Wake up when your alarm goes off! It is so easy to keep pressing the snooze button, but then comes the stress of having to get ready with only 20 mins! My advice is to set a reasonable alarm, and if you want to 'snooze' set it for 10 mins before. (That's what i do)

Have a hot drink, make sure you have a big breakfast, remember; breakfast is the most important meal! You must must must ensure that your body is getting nutrients in the morning, otherwise you end up snacking throughout the day, on foods that may not be that good for you...

Go to work! If you are someone who hates their job, then my advice from experience would be to begin looking for a new job and leave. Always make sure that you are doing something you love and enjoy, otherwise there is no point!

Take snacks to work, ensure that you eat and hydrate your body throughout the day, this helps to keep you active. When it is your break time, HAVE A BREAK, its your break, you do not need to continue working! Take that 15 mins to chill out and calm down, and get ready for the rest of the day.

When you come home, get done the work you need to do, if you do this first you have longer to chill out afterwards!
Have a good healthy dinner, and catch up on something you love to do, this could be reading, coloring, crafting.

Then start the cycle all over again! Have a nice hot relaxing bath, then get into bed and sleep.

I hope this might have helped, please comment below if you have anything else to say or add. Please remember that this is my way, your way to have a good day may be different.

Vegetarian Lifestyle...

Hello! Welcome back, i have not posted in a while so here is a bit more of a serious-ish subject that may interest some of you, more and more people are becoming vegetarian every year. So this year, i to have decided that i want to become a full time vegetarian. (Especially after seeing some horrid videos and films.)
This is due to my own personal reasons, but dont worry i am not about to preach about why you should become a vegetarian. Yet.

***

So anyway, already this year i have struggled, but this is due to my health and weight. I find it hard to maintain any kind of healthy weight, i have always been 'underweight', although this is not anyone's fault, it is my own, i get very worried or uncomfortable if i have noticeably gained weight, especially if someone tells me that i look 'different' i think i must have a fear of changing my body, even though i really do want it to change. I hope that makes sense.

So anyway, in this post i will just give a quick overview on the foods i eat daily. I am still learning and trying to find foods that i like and that give me all the nutrition i need to be healthy, and more importantly, gain healthy weight. I will eventually show my progress pictures when i begin to notice a difference in how i look.

I am not sure if many of you know, but i work at a school with young children, evidently, this means that i am moving around constantly, i am always burning calories, more than what i intake most days. My plan is to eat small meals, all day.

For breakfast: I have a hot nutritious drink (I do not know what it is called) it contains all the vitamins i need to get me through the day. I will then have two pieces of wholemeal toast with butter, or jam. I have a yogurt, preferably Greek yogurt, with some fruit.

Snack one: I take a box of fruits and veg to work with me. The box typically contains; carrots, cucumber, apple, celery, spinach, oranges.

Lunch: I will usually have a salad with will lots of dressing, i do have tuna on my salad, i do eventually want to stop eating fish, but i am not healthy enough to stop completely. I will then have orange juice, or some green tea.

Snack two: Mixed nuts and dried fruit, i carry a bag of this around with me anywhere, its just a good quick snack to have. (I also try to drink lots of water throughout the whole day)

Dinner: My dinner usually consists of what my Mum thinks i will eat, but this tends to be some frozen vegetarian oven meal, i work till late so when i get home, i just want some food ready. If not i will make myself some pasta.

Snack three: I never ever ever would eat after seven, i have no idea, someone told me once that i will get fat if i do... So now that i am trying to gain weight, i eat right before bed. I do not have a set snack, i usually just east what ever i fancy, which tends to be cheese. I LOVE CHEDDAR CHEESE. (Ps it does give you nightmares..)

I hope this has helped any of you, if you have any questions about being vegetarian or my diet, please comment and i will get back to you.

Happy New Year!

Finally, it is 2016!
We can all begin to decide what resolutions we want to make and maybe not continue with (we all have good intentions).
So here comes the new year new me posts, and the hungover images of the night before. I hope everyone has had a lovely year and that this one will be even BETTER.

I spent my New Year with my amazing boyfriend, what did you do?

I thought i would share with you my resolutions, you probably do not want to know, but if i write them down, i will remember them too!

So here we go..

Number one: TO GET FIT - I think this is a resolution that everyone has, and not everyone goes through with it, this has probably been one of mine for as long as i can remember. But this year is different, i am going to do it, and share my journey with you all.

Number two: Go vegetarian -  I have been trying to do this the last month, but its been hard having only meat to eat in the house! But i am going to learn new recipes and new alternatives to meat.

Number three: Start my online business -  I cannot give to much away about this, I am still brain storming! But i am super excited..

Number four: Take more pictures -  I need to start capturing more moments, and documenting them on here and for my own memories.

Number five: GROW MY HAIR REALLY LONG AND NOT CUT IT THIS YEAR!

Well there you have it, they are my five resolutions, i could probably think of more, but these are the main ones to begin with. I really hope i stick to them this year, this time next year i want to have really long hair and be super fit.

What are your New Year resolutions? Comment below to let me know

Have a lovely day xxxx
